Speed \u200b\u200bFiber Channel
I am currently working with a customer who has purchased a pair of nodes (we talking about Oracle RAC) + shared fiber storage
A small sample of the speed of this set: copy about 730MB from the local disk of one of the nodes to the shared storage cabinet takes 2.5 seconds. (Keep in mind that the cabin has its own cache in RAM, but the result is that there was indeed conveyed the information on your local disk to an external disk in a real good time.) While conducting this test, was restored about 70GB from an Ultrium tape drive to the same shared storage filesystem. I leave the log as a reference (I have omitted details that can make the customer feel identified):
[root @ node1 ~] # mount / dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 on / type ext3 (rw ) (...)

In this post I will publish tests like as I go to find interesting combinations of hardware. There will identify the hardware to be neutral and not advertising either for or against, as it may be necessary if a particular configuration that makes comparisons are not equal. Anyway I have no objection to respond privately to those inquiries regarding specific hardware gave the result to be posted
