In this post I know the game. Many of the more or less fixed readers of this blog who practice tai chi and other occasional certainly will not share or agree with the idea that I will outline below. But let me just remind you one thing: this blog is a personal blog, written by an author, myself, where I try to explain my way of understanding and conceiving the tai chi chuan. Not at all trying to be dogmatic or lecturing, quite the contrary.
In previous posts I've been hinting my understanding of tai chi. Creativity, imagination and personal development are basic principles "My Tai Chi." However, the term "Free Style Tai Chi" I intend to refer to that style of tai chi that, based on one or several styles of tai chi, goes a step further by providing something new, from new techniques of attack-defense different from the traditional sequence of a particular style. Therefore, involves a large dose of creativity and personal development.
entry
Just before this, on the one titled: "Tai Chi Forget?, Said that after a long period of abstinence in the practice of tai chi, forget all forms or sequences of movements, but "something left." In comments to the same input used a metaphor: our kinesthetic memory works like a deciduous tree may lose its leaves in autumn, but retains the branches. And it is true, even though time passes, the body does not forget the basic moves. The essence remains.
This essence allow us, even without going to the gym, to rebuild our own way of practicing tai chi, if the base is solid enough. If practiced tai chi for a long time and then for various reasons, abandoned the practice, still remains the basic and necessary to create and develop our own style. It only requires enthusiasm, showing interest, training and creativity. I swear it works.
Perhaps, for some of you this is not justifiable and argue that to learn tai chi correctly necessary, essential, attend classes in the hand of a master. But I hold the following idea: The result of practicing "tai chi free style" may be much more rewarding to learn in a gym. Why? Because the end result fits and adjusts itself perfectly to understand way, has the personal touch and is the fruit of our own work of inquiry, creativity and spontaneity.
Therefore I encourage all those who leave the gym for some time to resume the practice of tai chi. Not worth excuses such as: Is the gym takes me away from home, I have no time to practice ... etc. If you practice tai chi in the past for at least put three or four years, then you already have enough experience to create your own tai chi. You just need to take a bit of enthusiasm and creativity. Go ahead.
A hug to you all. And now I apologize to all those who use "free style tai chi" an aberration or a worthy substitute, but this is what I think and believe.
